How do you determine the year a newly built street buggy will be licensed as ? I would like to build one with a Toyota engine but I don't want to run a cat. converter . Do I have to find an older engine ?

Its licensed by the year of the frame not the engine. you use a 69 pan its a 69 beetle your licensing.

Thanks . This will be a rail buggy with no pan or vin available . I can't se them let me getting away with using a newer engine and not needing an etest . If I used a VW vin or pan with a different engine I don't think the Minisrty would be to happy . I should probably check directly with the MTO and see what they say .
