Oh man, I am getting goose bumps just thinking about it! The last race of the year...everyone fighting for the points championship...and it is all happening at a new track to boot! Humberstone Speedway is going to be packed on the September 30/October 1 weekend! Not only will the fans be able to watch the intense, high flying action at brand new off road track, but they can check out "Eve of Destruction" at the dirt oval track! Blindfold races, backward races, car hockey and a demo derby. But really...with all the off road racing going on, will they have time to check out the other events?
Check out www.ooraonline.com for more information!
The new track is coming along great... I was down there last weekend and checked it out. Think Oshwekan with more rockers and off camber sections..it will be fast, but there will be some technical sections as well.
Don't forget to bring some food for the food bank...this event is taking place the weekend before thanksgiving and some people are not as lucky in life as we are. From my understanding there will be a discount given at the gate for all people bringing donations for the food bank.
James Horton has been really getting out there and talking to sponsors, and because of this, the prize money pot keeps getting bigger and bigger. There are a bunch of new sponsors and a bunch more that he has lined up. James is doing an awesome job, and is putting a lot of time and effort into making this event as good as it could possibly be.
There will be a media day at the track on Monday September 25th. All the local papers and T.V. stations have been contacted, and will be there for photos, stories, and T.V. coverage. If anyone is interested please call James @ 905-988-9730 and he can fill you in on the info.
If anyone has any suggestions or input regarding the event,
dont be scared to call.
